Guidance For Bowlers at SBF Matches

Purpose of Games

The purpose of the games is to foster fellowship and spread the word regarding the charitable work carried out by the Fellowship. Many clubs raise funds for the Fellowship at these games.

It is not feasible to cover all areas in Scotland every year so to compensate for this, we visit a region on tour. If your club would like to host the SBF in future years, please contact us at the office.

Rink Play at SBF matches

How are the SBF games organised ?

We encourage mixed games, promoting inclusion for all bowlers. The format is usually four or six rinks played on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Players meet at the host club traveling independently however we do try to co-ordinate via the match secretary. Players should report to the match secretary on arrival.

What does it cost to play ?

There is no green fee for the match however a charge is normally made to cover the cost of a meal provided by the hosting club. There is normally a sweep of 50p/1.00 per head which normally goes to the highest up on each side.

How do I find out about games?

Games and events are published under the Friendly Games page of this website.

Mixed Games must contain at least one gent and one lady member.

What do I do if I want to play in one of the fixtures ?

Games are open to any member of the Fellowship. You may reserve a place at any game by informing the secretary of the SBF either using the online registration or downloading the application form on the Friendly Games page. If you are unable to attend , please notify the secretary by giving at least 7 days notice otherwise you may be liable for any expenses incurred.
